Full Version: [$1500] #63 | Contract Production From Companies.
You're currently viewing a stripped down version of our content. View the full version with proper formatting.
Price: $1500

Description: This bounty will allow you to create a contract that will allow AI companies to produce your design for you. AI companies will bid on your contract, and you will select which company you want to sign.

Upon assigning the contract, you will license the design to the AI company. They will produce it and ship the finished units to you.

This arrangement will likely be more expensive than handling production yourself.

We will add the new UI to the current Contract Bidding UI System.

Requirements: #5

Required By: None

Concerns: This adds another layer of complexity to the UI system. Internally, this bounty can use many features already built into the game. There are bound to be some buggy issues and complaints when companies go out of business, or there are not enough production lines to meet demand.

Eric's Opinion: I am neither for nor against this bounty, although I am leaning slightly more against it because this adds more "layers" of UI to the game, which everyone complains about. Nonetheless, it does open a new avenue for the player to run their company. And I am rarely against that.

Would it be possible to start joint ventures with other companies as well?
For example, two companies are each developing their own vehicle on the same platform and sharing the costs.
In the real world, for example, Toyota and BMW have a common platform and sell different vehicles for it
Toyota: the sports car Supra
BMW: Z4 Roadster

or as another example:
Mercedes Citan and Renault Kangoo

This bounty is for outsourcing the manufacturing of your design. I can't think off the top of my head of a company that has done this with a full car for consumer automobiles. Though, companies have done it before. In the racing world, one example is Corvette Racing (General Motors) outsources the manufacturing of their GT Corvettes to Pratt Miller.

The bounty you're looking for is "Joint Partnerships." I have not entered it into the system. (As of this writing, I have only entered about 30% of the bounties.) That bounty builds on top of this bounty. It will create both a license and an outsourcing contract for the partnered design, and it will split the development costs.
