[FIXED] Game crash to develop a new car

The game crashes when you try to select a new pre-made vehicle for development
the game also crashes if i create a new generation

This happens with all designs.
Generally, when it comes to pre-designed cars and also when creating the new generation of vehicles.

You may also want to white list game files in any antivirus you have, including Windows Defender. https://wiki.gearcity.info/doku.php?id=t...:antivirus


If that fails, try using DirectX9 and see if that works.

One last thing might need to happen. You may need to clear GPU caches, as we did downgrade our renderering libraries. If that's the case, the easiest way to fix it will be a clean reinstall with manual deletion of cached data: https://wiki.gearcity.info/doku.php?id=t...nreinstall

If anyone else is having this issue please let me know. Sometimes things like this can be very hardware or setup dependent, and if it works on my machine doesn't mean it works on everyone elses.

I am also having the same crash while attempting to design a car using the predesigned models. I have verified my files to see if that would work, and the crash persisted.

* I am going to test out all of the other steps provided and will reply if any change comes.

One other thing I just thought of, try switching the shadow system off.

I hope to be on a Windows system tonight, and I'll check it out in a little more detail. That said, I did about 15 game years and made about 10 cars without a crash in Windows release testing. I exclusively use premades...

I can confirm the is a crash when shadows are enabled. This only happens in Windows.

I'll have a hotfix out tonight, hopefully.

Issue should be fixed. You may need to restart Steam/verify cache to download the needed files.
