Menu UI
#1
Hi,
Sorting:
First time on these forums but a feature I think is missing being able to sort components by marque in Gear city 2nd gear. The only way I can sort by marque when looking at components is by attempting to clone the components on the design screen. As for vehicles you can't sort by type unless you're in the showroom in which case you can't do anything to the vehicles, and have to bounce back and forth between the view menu and the showroom.

In addition to that Is there anyway to fix the menu resetting after ending production for any vehicle or component? Or maybe being able to end production on than one components at once. Also a button to end production of a vehicle when ending the production of one if its components (Like ending production of an engine to kill off the car its based on) instead of/ in addition to the pop up.

I know i write a bit messy but I hope it all makes sense.

As far as sorting, ideally, we'd replace the current mechanism with sortable multi-column lists boxes/tables. It's one of the major issues with the game since the UI library did not have these widgets and the author went missing about 15.5 years ago.

The current mechanisms we use for sorting is extremely cumbersome, so it would end up a priced bounty.

As for the menu resetting after end production, what is it doing exactly and how is that differing from base GearCity? It could be a bug from the merging of the View and Modify windows, funded some time back.

I'm not quite sure if its different from base gear city since i've mostly been playing 2nd gear. But if you select any component or vehicle whether its on the first page or on other pages it resets you to the first page and the first item on that page. It would be nice if it just deleted the item selected and moved one item up on the list (similar to how deleting a line in excel moves the selector to the previous box) or kept your position so multiple components can be removed at once. If you have a lot of vehicles or components (I got a ton from mergers and aquisitions but I could have saved a lot of parts if i just didn't clean up as often) It makes it difficult to end production on a slightly large scale.

That is completely understandable I can't promise I can pay for the amount but i'd love to contribute if I could.

Sounds like a bug and not a missing feature. I'll add it to the next bug release.
