Reporting lost loading save games
#1
Hello Eric,

For some reason, every now and then when I open my latest savegame, it just loses my sales history. It lost all time market share, vehicle class market share, top 50 sales, financial reports... as well as the sales per year.

It happens quite regularly and my only solution was going back to the first oldest savegame that allowed me to have them.

I'd add my savegame, but it's over 140MB...

Check to see if you have "Delete Reports Older Than 5 Years" enabled in the office settings menu: https://wiki.gearcity.info/doku.php?id=g...e_settings

If not, please send in your log files. https://wiki.gearcity.info/doku.php?id=t...am_logfile

Did you compress it with zip? If so, there are two upload services you can use, mentioned second to the last paragraph here: https://wiki.gearcity.info/doku.php?id=t...vegamefile

Can the savegame work? I compressed it - sorry, hadn't thought about that.

I'll take a look at it tonight or tomorrow evening. That said, I don't recall of the settings I mentioned above transfer over with save games or if they're saved locally.

Also, if you could upload your log files after it happens, that will help out a lot too.

Loading your save game, you have "Delete Reports Older Than 5 Years" enabled.

This setting deletes all old reports.

That being said, I am unable to duplicate it deleting all the reports on load.

If you could provide me the log files after it happens. I'd like to see if there is anything in there.

Also, be sure to whitelist the game files in your anti-virus software (including Windows Defender) just in case it's doing something.

That's really interesting.
That function is not enabled in the same savegame, in my game (see screenshot). Why does it look different on yours and mine? Could it be that something triggers that toggle to misbehave?

In the 47 years of this game I think this happened twice. Every time I reload from a previous year, it goes smoothly until at some point, I load the previous save and it repeats this issue. I'll reload from the year before, game until it happens again and when it does I get you a log file Smile

(note on the system: I use Kubuntu, 25.04).

Are you doing save as by any chance?

Log file will likely contain an error message that could tell me what is going on for these reports not to be generated. As my only guess is that there is a periodic SQL database error that happens between deleting the old files and writing the new one.

Hello Eric,

Yes I use Save As for every year of game (Save as... and change the year on the name).

Pretty sure that Log5 is the log of my last game with that save, after that I tried to restart or understand what was happening. For safety I am sending more than one.

(EuroSave 1946 still has the history, 1947 has lost it. Trying to see how to recover I also made a new save as 1947wrong, which is the one I sent you.
