Next Page For this month''s Class Challenge we pitted {2} of the top {0} vehicles in {1} in a series of test to determine who is best. Let''s take a look at the challengers: We''ve got three different tests for these vehicles. Let''s see how well they do! As always our first test was out on the track. While these vehicle aren''t designed to be race cars the track will give us a good indication of the vehicle driveability and performance in the real world. After some testing we found the {0} {1} with its {2} {3} to be the best in class. This {4} is really something out here in the track. Runner up was the {5} {6} while not the fastest it was pretty good. Coming in third was the {7} {8} not quite as good as the top two, but better than the rest. Here were the final results of the challenge: SInce we spend the most of the time inside the vehicles. The obvious most import test would be our comforts test. While many people over look the finer things in life. For long term happy ownership of a vehicle, its comforts are important. With this in mind, of our test vehicles the {0} {1} was our overall most comfortable {2}. {0} did a wonderful job, and it shows. The runner up was the {3} {4} with a little more effort we believed that the {4} could be just as good as the {1}. Designers at {3} should improve their interior just a little more if they want our top spot. Coming in third was the {5} {6}. We sensed that the {6} could use some improvement. Specially when held against the best in class. Here are our results: Bicycling Bicycler Using Your Feet While performance and creature comforts are all well and nice. The real question should always be, how badly does this car effect my wallet. Vehicle purchases are big expenses. So obviously you should always try to get the best quality car you can afford. Hope that it last forever and the cost to maintain and drive it remains low. For this test we tested our vehicles for the entire month, logging thousands of test miles and we have came to this conclusion. The {0} {1} was the easiest {2} to live with. It marked high on both our durability test and quality tests as well giving us {3} fuel consumption. Our runner up wasn''t quite bad it self, the {4} {5} would make a decent car to own for years to come. Coming in third was the {6} {7}, while not as impressive as our winners, it is still a good vehicle in this segment. Here is how the field broke down: In the end there could only be one winner. The {0} {1} did really well, but it was only good enough for third. Coming in second was the {2} {3}. The {3} was a wonderful vehicle, and it did quite well on our test. "{0} should really make a {2} that is better than the {3}." Someone at {0} must of been reading my mind because I got my hands on the latest {1} and gave it a test spin. I hope it''s not as bad as the {4} but the real question is: "How far behind does it lag to the {3}?" Everyone always says the {3} is the greatest {2} made. But you always go against the grain. What about a {4}? OK stop laughing. Yes we all know the doors fall off when you open them. So what''s the solution to setting the newest trend? Ever thought about a {0}? This month we take a look at the new {1}. Is this the {2} you''ve been looking for? Find out! Our first test is always on the track. It is here where we can measure the performance of the {0} {1} without getting a speeding ticket! And that''s good because we would rack up the tickets in this {6}. Not for going too fast, but for going too slow! The {1} is slower than grandma''s mobility scooter. You seriously might as well walk. The {2} horse power {5} engine should be used in a lawn mower. Not in a car. The {1} lugs it self to a horrible top speed of {3}. And strains to hit {4}. {7} It is amazing they even allow this vehicle to drive on the roads. All in all we hate this car performance on the track. {8} Normally we take the vehicles out to the track as our first test. And to be honest we tried, but the {0} {1} is so slow that it took us nearly 3 hours just getting out of the parking lot. And that shows you how dreadful this {6} is. The {2} {5} engine is grossly underpowered. Interestingly enough if you waited all week you could power the {1} up to a top speed of {3} and accelerate full throttle with a {4} time. {7} {8}So in a nut shell the {1} is as slow as a rock. The only way to make it move is to push it off a cliff. After a morning of coffee and drawing straws, I was chosen one to take the {0} {1} out to the test track. Thank god for the coffee! The {1} is a real sleeper. Literally this {6} will put you to sleep. The {1} is slower than a three legged donkey with hoof problems. First off the {2} horse power {5} engine is extremely too weak for this vehicle. It barely can hit a top speed of {3} and accelerate in {4}. Now you can see why I fell asleep behind the wheel. {7} This is certainly not a race car. {8} Avoid. As always our first test is the track. Right off the bat I knew that the {0} {1} was not going to be a show stopper. The vehicle is sluggish, specially for a {6}. However it does what it has to. Get you from point A to point B. And while getting there quickly isn''t a priority, with all the traffic these days, could you really enjoy anything faster? The {2} horse power {5} engine does struggle, but there is enough there to do the job. The {1} tops out at {3} and can accelerate in {4}. So while not fantastic, enough for a daily driver. {7} {8} Even though the {0} {1} wasn''t designed for it, our first test was the track. Right away we knew this {6} was an under performer. The {2} horse power {5} engine was too weak to move us around the track at any decent speed. This lackluster combination could only bring us to a top speed of {3} and on the strip do {4} acceleration. {7} {8} Is the {0} {1} fast? Uh, No. But is that important? Maybe. For a {6} the {1} is well below average. There are many other vehicles in this class that can move better and faster on the track. And because of that we don''t consider it to be very good. The {2} horse power {5} engine is underpowered for this vehicle. Which ultimately hurts its performance. The {1} is able to reach a top speed of {3} and it does {4} on the strip. {7} And that leaves us with one conclusion. {0} Should have probably used a bigger, better engine for this vehicle. But as it is, it will do. {8} The first stop with the {0} {1} was the track. Where this {6} performed rather well. We found its {2} horse power {5} engine to give a decent response without being overly powerful. Although it''s not class leading the {1} is better than most of its competition on the track. We were able to get the {1} up to a top speed of {3} and hit a {4} time. {7} When it comes right down to it, the {1} is for good or worse, average, well maybe slightly above average for a {6}. {8} On first glance the {0} {1} seems to have everything you''d want in a daily driver on the track. It is not overly powerful, but it packs enough punch to get up and go. While you won''t win any races, you won''t hold up any traffic. The {6}''s {2} horse power {5} engine does well enough under load to keep you satisfied. The {1} is able to top out at {3} and accelerates at {4}. {7} Ultimately the {0} {1} is your average {6} on the track. {8} We brought the {0} {1} out to the track expecting the worst. And boy were we surprised. While the {1} isn''t the fastest {6}, it is certainly as good as most {6} out on the market today. We thought the {2} horse power {5} engine was a good fit for this model. We were able to top out at {3} and on the strip we did a {4}. {7} While impressed the {1} isn''t perfect on the track. But it''s still good enough for most people. {8} It has been a long time since I''ve driven a {6} that performed as well. I really hoped that the {0} {1} would fix the performance funk we''ve had lately. Much to my chagrin, the {1} did great! The {2} horse power {5} engine was able to launch the car. Getting out of the car I had to pop my neck. While there are faster {6} the {1} does better than most. On our speed tests we were able to get the {1} up to {3} and on the strip we did an impressive {4}. {7} While {0} {1} will never become a track car, it is one of the better performers. {8} The day started right when I was picked to drive the {0} {1} on the track. The {1} is a is pretty fast for a {6}. Its {2} horse power {5} engine response great and is the perfect size and power for this vehicle. It left a smile on my face when I was able to top it out at {3}. And then on the drag strip I was able to crank out a {4}. Some may have their doubts, but the {0} {1} is a fantastic track {6}. {8} As always, our first stop with the {0} {1} was the track. This {6} may wow some people. It''s certainly has better power and performance than most of its peers. The {2} horse power {5} engine is able to put a healthy amount of rubber on the road. When you do this properly, you''re able to propel the {1} to a top speed of {3} and drag times of {4} are a breeze. {7} {0} really did well with the {1} when it comes to the track. I certainly think this vehicle is better than most in its class. {8} I was giddy when I heard we were testing {0} {1}. On the track this thing is fast. How fast? Notice there are no pictures on this page? That fast! This is one of the fastest {6} i''ve ever been in. As impressive as that sounds, the {2} horse power {5} engine is even more impressive. Peddle to the metal, this baby will do {3} easily. And in a straight line we hit a {4}! {7} {8} Mommy can I keep it? Please?! The first stop for the {0} {1} was the track. I won''t lie. I was scared. This {6} is built for performance. {0} cut no corners when designing this vehicle for speed. The vomit stains on the carpet prove that the {2} horse power {5} engine roars this rocket to a top speed of {3} in an impressive {4}. {7} I''m guilty wanting to steal this one for my self. {8} On my first track run in the {0} {1} suffered 2 cracked rips and a ruptured spleen. Not from wrecking it, but from the sheer raw power of this {6}. The {1}''s {2} horse power {5} engine drives you into the seats while you accelerate with an impressive {4} time and a top speed of {3}. The {1} is able to keep this speed all the way up to the the top speed of {3}. {7} {8} After my hospital visit, I came to the conclusion that this is the best {6} i''ve ever tested on the track. Buy IT NOW!!! While testing the {0} {1}''s handling on the track, we found that this {2} drives like a brick. Many times we were confronted with a corner that the vehicle just couldn''t handle. At speed this vehicle may be deadly. In the real world the {0} {1} could not even handle a U-turn, let alone our beloved test track. Why the hell would engineers at {0} even put a steering wheel on this train? This has to be one of the worst handling {2} I have ever driven. When it comes to driveability, we wished that all the roads in the world were straight. Sadly they''re not, it is unfortunate that the {0} {1} could not handle like its {2} peers. In no way can I recommend this vehicle for anyone who drives on the road. It is an accident waiting to happen. Compared to its peers in the {2} class the {0} {1} selling point should not be driveability. The {1} offers bare bones handling. There is just enough grip in the wheels to keep you from flying off the side of a cliff... But not much. On the track, it is not much better. On the track testing the {0} {1} did have some slight issues. Of course it was not designed to be a track car. But as a {2} it should have better handling than it does. In most cases in the real world this shouldn''t be any problem. But it is still sub-par at best. There is not much to say about the {0} {1} when it comes to handling. As a {2} it''s below average. As an everyday driver it''ll do its job. In summation the {1} is mundane. The {0} {1} handles smoothly and can really turn a corner for a {2}. While it is certainly not a race car, it can handle any real world situation you throw at it. On the track you can tell that the {0} {1} is above average when it comes to handling and driveability. Most {2} would not be able to keep up with the {1} on twisty and windy roads. It can almost put a smile on your face. The good thing about the {0} {1} is that it''s actually handles better than your typical {2}. Its cornering abilities surpass the norm. Once in a blue moon a vehicle comes around that really wows us on the track. The {0} {1} is that vehicle! This {2} sticks to the road like a race car. It has so much grip that it could probably run well at Monaco! This vehicle is amazing in the turns. We drove it until it ran out of gas, that''s how great it is. After our series of track test, we look at the interior of the {0} {1} and what we find might shock you. This is one of the absolutely worst interior that we''ve ever seen. I have no idea what {0} was thinking. Maybe they wanted to be cheap, but whatever they were thinking they need to rethink it. As it is now I can not recommend stepping foot inside the {1}. It''s that horrible. We were mortified when we began our interior testing of the {0} {1}. This vehicle lacks basic features you''d expect in a toy car, let alone a vehicle that costs this much. The flint stones had more comfortable rides. It is because of the abhorrent lack of oversight by {0} that we have no reason to recommend this vehicle when it comes to comforts. When we got to interior testing on the {0} {1} we found it to be below average. While you wouldn''t want to use this vehicle on a road trip, it is comfortable enough for short rides and tiny commutes. Once track testing was over it came time to look at the {0} {1}''s interior. We found that it was very bare bones. So much so that we could not stand to be in it for long. It seems {0} was trying to make something retro by filling the vehicle with decades old styling and gadgets. We recommend looking at other vehicles if you plan on buying a long range vehicle. Once we were done playing on the track, we got a good look at the {0} {1} and I must say, we were quite impressed. While not the most luxurious vehicle on the market. It is quite comfortable for what it is. There is just enough styling and support to last on long trips and impress friends, while not being overly expensive like hyper luxurious vehicles. Looking at the interior we fell in love with the {0} {1}. The {1} has all the features you expect and more. The materials are soft, and the quality is good. Equally impressive was the comfortability of the seats. {0} did a great job. The strongest selling point of the {0} {1} is its exceptional sense of luxury. Break out the Grey Poupon because the {1} is filled with niceties. The seats are so nice I never wanted to leave. In fact I''m writing this while sitting in the {1}. The interior of the {0} {1} is nothing short of amazing. It is beyond words to say how perfect this vehicle is. Only the finest materials in the greatest possible workmanship ever seen in this type of vehicle grace the {1} interior. I can not do anything but recommend the {1} for everyone. {0} really outdid themselves. Since we''re in the interior it''s a great time to talk about the a glaring flaw in {0} {1}''s safety. Or I mean, Lack of safety. As the {1} is nothing more than a death trap. Please make sure your life insurance policy is filled before buying this vehicle. On the topic of safety, the {0} {1} is highly recommended for suicidal drivers who are not afraid of spontaneous combustion. When it comes to safety features {0} {1} maintains the bare-bones amount required to keep you safe. While you probably won''t survive a major accident. The vehicle shouldn''t explode hitting a pothole on poor roads. With that said, I would not trust the {0} {1} with my kids. The risk adverse should avoid this vehicle due to its horrible safety features. This is probably why the dealership makes you sign a wavier before driving it. Safety is another important topic on the minds of many. The {0} {1} maintains the average amount of safety features for this type of vehicle. While not overly impressive, it should be enough to keep you alive in most cases. Don''t expect miracles however. While being safe is important, {0} did not believe it was a priority in the {1}. The vehicle does provide enough safety features to be consider average for its class. It does not add anything more than that however. The extra effort from {0} to make the {1} feel safer pays off. The reinforced frame makes the vehicle much more impact resistant. Don''t go driving into walls your self, just take our word for it. With some focus on safety, {0} {1} has been able to outshine most in its class. It almost makes you believe the marketing hype that {0} does actually believe in the safety and security of your family. In some sense the {0} {1} reminds us of an over protective parent. One that wraps you in damage proof forcefield that prevents all interaction with the outside world. While the {1} isn''t that safe. It is still quite comforting to know that nothing can hurt you. While talking with engineers at {0} we found out that the {1} was designed to be nuclear bomb proof. While we don''t really know if that is bluster, we do sort believe them. Specially when it ran through the concrete brick during crash testing without leaving a dent on the hood. At this point in testing we would normally take the {0} {1} out on the roads. However our test driver barely made it out of the parking lot before running out of fuel. The {1}''s ghastly {2} city and {3} highway means you''ll need to take a few jerry cans, scratch that, a few barrels of fuel just to make it to the grocery store. Out on civilian streets you''ll never be thought of as a ecomaniac while driving your {0} {1}. With its sub-par {2} city and {3} highway the {1} will hit your wallet hard, but don''t the gas station clerk is a nice guy! While the {0} {1} will not win any awards for its fuel consummation. Its {2} city and {3} is better than most vehicles in its class. This means more money in your wallet and a happier long term experience. {0} did a good job in this respect. When it came to fuel economy testing we tried to see how far we could go in the {0} {1}. Our goal was to run it out of fuel. We tried and we failed. Even when the {1} fuel gage was below E, it kept going! Befuddled at this we asked {0} engineers how this is possible. They showed us their Motor Bunny fuel system, which just keeps going and going and going and going for an impressive {2} city and {3} highway. In one word, amazing. With {0} of torque it can only haul an appalling {1}... With its {0} of torque you can tow around {1} but don''t expect to get there anytime soon. The {0} of torque can tow around {1}. Which is great if you want to hitch up your son''s little red wagon to haul around town. With this {0} of torque can tow {1}. Once again. Not great, but not bad. The sub-par {0} of torque, the vehicle was only able to handle towing {1} which means you shouldn''t use this for your boat. The engine puts out {0} of torque which can haul {1}. While the {0} of torque you get is not insane it is more than enough to tow {1} which was a decent amount for this class. The engine puts out {0} of torque making it able to tow {1} which is average for this class. Hooked up to our test trailer, the {0} of torque were able to tow {1}. When we hooked it up to our test trailer the {0} of torque was able to move {1}. Which was very good for a its class. With {0} of torque we were able to drag {1} on our test trailer. So it can move your spare junk! With {0} of torque, our smoking wheels were able to tow {1}. If this doesn''t drop your jaw, the {0} of torque will spin the earth in the opposite direction, the baby can tow {1} which is amazing! If that wasn''t enough with the {0} of torque will melt the tires off the rims. When hooked to a trailer, this baby will haul an amazing {1}! We found that with {0} of torque this machine can tow an impressive {1}. Getting into the {0} {1} can be quite a bit of a pain. Even an amoeba would be claustrophobic in the confines of the {1}. With only {2} of cargo and passenger space, there is absolutely no place to put anything. Want a to take a suit case? Strap it to the roof. Want to take a child to school? Strap him to the roof. Want a soda... you guessed it. Strap it to the roof! One has to imagine {0} owns a roof rack company somewhere. The {0} {1} is not exactly roomy. You can fit normal people in it, maybe a bag or two. But not much else. You probably wouldn''t want to be in it for long, and your certainly wouldn''t want to use it to transport anything in bulk. The {1}''s {2} of passenger and cargo space leave a lot to be desired. Many vehicles in its class are much more spacious. So be warned. This may not be the perfect fit for you. In terms of passenger and cargo space the {0} {1}''s {2} could be considered quite adequate for its class. The seats are roomy enough for almost every person, it can store what you would expect, and there is still enough room left over to have a bunch of knickknacks. It''s hard to see where {0} could improve this car. It''s good. Very good. The {0} {1} gives you a sense of home away from home. With {2} of cargo and passenger space the {1} feels like a second living room. Which was what {0} was probably thinking when they made this vehicle. "Lets make a vehicle that people could live in." Well {0} thank you, because after my wife threw me out, this is my new home. And let me tell you, it rocks! When the first first button fell inside the dash board we were curious. When the door fell off, we were interested. When a gust of wind broke it into hundreds of pieces we astonished. And that my friends is all there is to say about the build quality of the {0} {1}. {0} really cut corners when making the {1}. You can tell in our test model. Only a few days old and parts are already starting to wear. But you get what you pay for. And if you buy gaps in panelling, leaky doors, and crackling speakers, well you''re going to get gaps, leaks, and crackling. And the {0} {1} has all three in abundance. While not exactly handmade, {0} did put a bit of extra work into the {1} and it shows. Panels actually fit and are made to last. The finish doesn''t fade in the sun, and all the bolts have washers. It begs the question why buy a lower quality car every 5 years, and not buy the {0} {1} which should last a few generations? The workmanship put into the {0} {1} is unparalleled in this market. From its hand finished panelling to ultrahigh quality materials the {1} is truly a work of art that should last a life time. It seems {0} has perfected the perfect. It didn''t take long for us to do the dependability test on the {0} {1}. Have you ever seen a piston fly through the hood of a vehicle? I have, twice, upon starting the {1}. Third time was a charm though, and we got this baby on the road, only to have the wheel fall off. We put the wheel back on, drive for about 5 minutes, and then it caught on fire. I think the {0} {1} hates me or something. Engineers at {0} managed to make the perfect vehicle. It has absolutely not issues until hours after the warranty expires. We tested this phenomena 5 times on the {0} {1} and every time they had a major breakdown within a week after the warranty expired. While great for {0} this is probably not a vehicle you should buy if you plan on keeping it. The dependability of the {0} {1} leaves a lot to be desired. The {0} {1} did very well on our dependability tests. We did not have any major issues in long term testing. The minor issues we did have were easy to resolve and not very costly. We believe that the {0} {1} is dependable enough for even the most unknowledgeable owner. It proper care and maintenance, even if done by a shop, the {0} {1} should last a very long time. Dog is said to be man''s best friend. But that saying isn''t true anymore. I propose the {0} {1} is truly man''s best friend. Not once in our long term testing did it need repair. This vehicle was built to last a life time. It is truly a wonder of the world. Centuries from now people will still probably be driving this thing, that''s how rock solid it is. Ultimately the {0} {1} is one of the worst vehicles I have ever driven. {0} should be ashamed of making such crap. Only a pure idiot would buy such junk. There are much better {2} on the market to choose from. Hell walking beats this rubbish. Even if it is a cross continental trip! Would we recommend this vehicle at retail price? No. There are better options in the {2} segment than the {0} {1}. It''s hard to say what faults are the {1} but we do know that {0} really needs to improve this product if it wants any sizeable portion of the marketshare. If you can get this vehicle steeply discounted then it might be worth it. Other wise avoid the {0} {1}. In the end the {0} {1} provide decent value for the money. It''s not the best car in the {2} segment, but it won''t disappoint. You could do a lot worse. If this model appeals to you I see no reason to dissuade you from it. I was happy with the time I spent in the {0} {1}. This car is truly magnificent. I think future generations will look back at this vehicle and think, "I wish I owned one of these." It may not be top end, but it is more than enough for long trips and everyday drivers. It makes you feel good about life. Without feeling pompous. Nothing says ''You''ve Made It'' better than owning the {0} {1}. It is a palace on wheels. Comfortable seats, firm leather, and lovely carpeting will make you feel like the King or Queen of the road. The {0} {1} is the kind of vehicle a mortician recommends and an insurance man says to never buy. In this respect we have to agree with the insurance man for once. We can''t lose anymore subscribers! Avoid {1} at all costs! From the looks of things, the engineers at {0} took the bare minimum approach. The {0} {1} has just enough safety features and quality materials to keep you and your family safe in most instances. But don''t expect much if it effected their bottom line. There is enough there to product their libalities, thus protecting them from lawsuits. No more, no less. If you are focused on keeping your family safe, this is not the vehicle for you. If safety was your priority, then this isn''t the best on the market. That being said it''s better than a lot of vehicles as well. The folks at {0} didn''t make safety their focus, but there are enough features here to keep most people''s minds at ease. And that''s pretty much the jest of the thing. The {0} {1} is average in all respects. While the {0} {1} is certainly impressive in term of safety, it''s not overly designed in this fashion in a way that would imped its enjoyment. Never the less this vehicle is more than safe enough for even the most uptight and poor drivers among us. You could really tell the engineers at {0} designed the {1} to save lives. This vehicle not only reduces the risk of being killed in it, but reduces the risk of being killed from it. This vehicle should be looked at as a marvel of preventative engineering. Whether or not the {0} {1} is an energy company conspiracy or not is up for debate. What is certain is the {1} awful fuel mileage of {2} city and {3} highway will certainly drive up energy stocks! The {0} {1}''s fuel economy is impressive, but not in a good way. The {1}''s {2} city and {3} highway is one of the worst in class. This might not be troublesome when you look at the numbers, but it will be when you actually have to pay for it. The {2} city and {3} highway might not look great. And it isn''t. But there are worst options out there. That is no excuse however. At the pump station you get the feeling that someone over at {0} really wanted to squeeze out every last drop out of this vehicle. And that person should get a raise. The {0} {1} gets an impressive {2} city and {3} highway! Which means it theoretically pays for it self compared to the competition! Are gas prices too high now? What will they be like 10 years from now? What about 50 years from now? Does it matter? If you drive a {0} {1} it doesn''t. The {1} only uses {2} city and {3} highway. Which means it rarely needs refuelling and when it does, it''s cheap! The cramped {0} {1} will leave your passengers knees permanently attached to their chest after you fold them up and slide them into that space they call a seat. The {1}''s tiny {2}L of cargo and passenger space leaves very little room for even this review! We thought the {0} {1} would be better served by removing something... anything... to make more space for passengers. Children are the only ones who will fit comfortably in this vehicle. And even then they won''t have a place to put their backpack in this {2}L box. Basketball players and sumo wrestlers should probably avoid the {0} {1}. If not for any other reason, the {2}L of cargo and passenger space is slightly cramp for even an average sized person such as my self. When it comes time to get into the {0} {1} most people will find it to be a little tight. While the {2}L of cargo and passenger space does limit us, it is almost average for it''s class. Overtime we got used to it. But we still think the folks at {0} should squeeze in just a little more space inside. The {0} {1}''s {2}L of cargo and passenger space is plenty for the typical consumer. It is certainly better than average for this type of vehicle. While there are some areas that could be improved all in all we think the {1} is good. When it comes to cargo, its {2}L of space is better than most vehicles of its type, but far from the best. We believe there is enough room in the {0} {1} to fill all your needs without over doing it. The {0} {1} is one of the most spacious vehicles in its class. With {2}L of cargo and passenger room you should never have any issues with transportation. Even if you have to move an elephant... Inside the {0} {1} it feels like they could add an extra row of seats. There is enough room to even lay down, which is amazing! The {2}L of cargo and passenger space ensures that you always have plenty of room to do whatever it is you need to do. And that makes us happy. At first glance you might of thought it to be a cheap poorly made toy. Maybe it''s one of those life sized cutouts? But no my friends, this is the real deal, this is the {0} {1} and it''s has god awful quality. The {0} {1} is so poorly made that there are petitions to prevent the sale or manufacturing of them on the bases of fraud. So be advised, the {1} is horribly built. But its not exactly the worst car on the market. You can do better. The {0} {1} was made by below average workers, using below average materials, for a below average company. Even though it came off an assembly line you can tell that the employees at {0} love their job. This is reflected in the quality of material and workmanship used to finish the product. It may not be much in this day and age, but the {0} {1} is above its class average when we looked at the physical quality of the machine. While other manufacturers cut corners, {0} looks to keep their image and public perception high. They do a good job at that with the {1}. The manufacturing process of {0} has really found something. The {1} seems like a hand built car through and through. The workmanship is amazing. Only fine artisans could produce something like this. ''Spare no expense!'' and ''Perfection!'' are known to be mottos of {0}. And they show this off in their {1}. The build quality is no short of perfectly amazing. Hats off to their hard work. If your ideal date night is being broke down on the side of the road, then the {0} {1} will fulfil your wildest dreams. If it wasn''t for the price, we would of thought that the {0} {1} was a disposable car. It literally breaks after use. But no, it''s not disposable, and that''s what makes it all the worse. The {0} {1} is not exactly dependable. It won''t last a million miles, but it will get you down the road. Do expect a few issues over the lifetime of the vehicle. But most are fixable. Do expect major repairs over the life time of owning a {0} {1}. This is to be expected as it''s not designed to be a life long vehicle. I imagine it''ll be rare to find a {0} {1} in repair shops or even junk yards. These things are well built with quality parts. And that will show in the long run. The {0} {1} was designed with longevity in mind. The vehicle is sturdy and easy to maintain. It will last as long as you want it. If there was one vehicle I believe would be able to hit 1,000,000 miles easily it would be the {0} {1}. This vehicle was designed for dependability in mind. The {0} {1} is easily one of the most dependable vehicles ever made, it is excellently designed, excellently produced. And with just a little TLC will last forever and a decade. The first button on the side menu allows us to modify the body of the vehicle. This button brings up the tires and parts accessories panel, in this panel you can select and place parts onto your vehicle such as tires, headlights, mirrors, and many more things. The paint button allows us to paint the vehicle body, leathers, and glass. In the future we will allow painting of parts and accessories. The finish button finishes our design and brings us back to the design panels. The delete button will bring us back body selection menu, thus allowing us to create a new body design. Let''s go ahead and click the paint tools. This will bring up the paint panel. To paint something simply click the paint color you want. Then click the object you wish to paint. As of now only the vehicle body may be painted with paints. Go ahead and try it! Click continue when you''re ready to move on. To change glass or leather we would use this selection box and change it from paints to what ever material you wish to change. Then use the same concepts as paints to apply them to the vehicle. Now that you have painted the vehicle, lets go ahead and modify the body. Go ahead and click the Body Modification button. The body modification system allows you to alter the shape and properties of the vehicle''s body. The procedure is simple however this will erase any accessories already placed on the body. This drop down selection will allow us to set our specific area of focus when it comes to modifying the body. Changing it will fill the list below it. Select the part of the vehicle you wish to modify and it will bring up the available modifications. Adjusting these sliders will alter the corresponding part of the body. Continue working with different sliders where you see fit. When you have the basic shape click continue and we''ll move on to the Accessory placement. Now that we have the body shape of our vehicle, we''re ready to attach accessories, tires, and other body parts. To do this we must bring up the accessories panel. Everything other than the body it self is applied to the vehicle as Accessories. These accessories allow you to further customize your vehicle to your desires. In the panel on the bottom is our accessory selector. This also doubles as our accessory modifier as well. From the drop down select which type of accessories you wish to add. The default selection are axles, however if your vehicle already has axles, these accessories will not be needed. Go ahead and select a category from the drop down. Over here we have options for how to place the accessories and if we should automatically mirror the accessory to the other side of the vehicle. It is best to leave it on Click as default. As the drag method is a legacy option and not feature complete. To place an item, simply click the item you wish to place, then click where you would like to place it on the vehicle. The artist defined mounting point will be placed exactly where you clicked on the vehicle. After you have placed an item click continue. After placing an accessory you will be presented with the accessory modification panel. This panel will have various sliders to adjust the properties of the accessory you placed. The system works just like the Body Modification sliders. So continue working with different sliders where you see fit. If you do not like the placement of your accessory, you may move it simply by dragging the placed accessory to a new location. The same effects will be applied to the mirrored copy. Using these 4 arrows above you can change the rotation of the accessories you''ve placed. This allows you to pitch or rotate the accessories. The flip button will flip the accessory in place. This is useful if your accessories are inside-out or if you wish to rotate the accessory 180 degrees while still keeping the same facing. The mirror button will flip the accessory onto the other side of the body while making a duplicate copy of the accessory. The lock buttons will lock accessories movements on an axis. This is helpful if you wish to drag an accessory to a new location but do not want changes to specific direction such as height. The Clone tool will make a duplicate of the selected accessory and mirrored accessory. It copies both the modification and the location. After hitting clone you must move the cloned accessory to its new location. The delete button will delete the selected accessory. Once you are finished modifying the selected accessory, click the finished button to return you to the accessory placement panel. If you wish to return to the modification panel, simply click the accessory on the vehicle you wish to modify. Once your finished with your design click the continue button or click the finished button button located on the left panel. You''ll now be given the option to save your design for future use. If you wish to save it, put a name into the text box then hit save. Other wise click don''t save. With the vehicle body designed we are now given access to the ratings menu. To find out about our vehicle''s specifications simply click the rating''s button. Some of the vehicle''s specifications play an important role in how well the vehicle will sell. Other specs are merely fluff to give you a better understanding of how your components work together. For more details on ratings see the Advanced tutorials. (They are not implemented yet! Sorry!) Your main focus should be these ratings, This panel will give you a quick summery of how well the vehicle is designed in key categories. The more stars the better that category is. It also includes other important information such as unit cost and design costs. Ratings Include: Vehicle Name - Name of the vehicle. Trim - Vehicle Trim Brand - Marque to sell this vehicle under. Unit Cost - Estimated Unit Cost. Design Cost - Estimated Design Cost not including labor. Luxury - How Luxurious your vehicle is. Safety - How safe your vehicle is. Comfort - How comfortable your vehicle is. Quality - How much quality the vehicle shows. Design Requirements - Design requirements rating. The higher this rating is the greater of a potentially worse design being made. Manufacture Requirements - The higher this requirement is the harder it will be to manufacture units. Thus slowing down production. Driveability - How well and easy the vehicle drives and also how well it holds the road. Fuel - How fuel efficient your vehicle is. Performance - How well your vehicle performs Dependability - How dependable the vehicle is over time. Cargo - How good is the cargo space and availability. Completion Date - The estimated completion date for the vehicle design. For more details on the rating system see the Advanced Tutorials (They are not implemented yet! Sorry!) Once you''re ready to begin the design click the Build It button. Then return to the Office. Now that our engineers are ready to design the vehicle, we will need to skip a few turns until it is completed. Check the memo system to see when research is completed. After the design has been completed, click the globe on the desk to take you to the World Map. We will be waiting for you there. Welcome to the world map. The world map is used to manage, maintain, create, and destroy factories and branches. It is also the home of the marketing system as well as the main place to set both manufacturing information and distribute vehicles. The world map also has various maps to visually show you city data and view your competition. As such the world map plays a vital role in running your company. Many of the features implemented in the world map can be done with the mega menu however the world map gives a better visual representation of the situation. Now that we have completed a vehicle, we need to assign it to production and distribution. To get the vehicle into production we must find and select a city with a factory. Notice the dot on the map that is glowing green? This is a factory. Click this city then hit continue. This brings up the city information screen as you saw when we started our game. Let''s go through the options before we assign production lines. This button will bring up the Factory settings window for this city. Factories are the buildings we use to produce vehicles. Here you will find the Branch settings. We use Branches to distribute to our dealership networks. Down here is marketing. Our marketing in a city will directly effect the sales and public perception of our company. The competition button is where you''ll find information on prices and sales of your competition in a city. This is helpful when gauging prices and focus in a city. Let''s go ahead and click the factory button to bring up the factory window. This is the factory window. In this window we can manage, create, and maintain our factory for this location. Let''s go over the basics before we adjust production for our vehicle. This is the quick details panel. It allows you to quickly gage factory cost, company finances, and factory quality. The view details panel shows you information such as the factory expenditures, number of vehicles produced, number of employees, and vehicles in reserve. A list of vehicles being built or are held in reserve is also included. As well as the ability to scrap excess reserves. The Build/Resize button allows you to build a new factory or resize an existing factory. In GearCity we can only have one factory per city. If you''re successful, eventually demand will outgrow your factory''s capacity. In that case resizing an existing factory is an excellent idea to expand production. This is the retool button. Over time your factory tools will wear down or become obsolete. It is important to update your factory production lines periodically to keep up with modern manufacturing techniques. Doing so can increase the amount of production you can squeeze into your factory space. This is the production button. It is here were we can assign vehicles to production lines for production. If we ever need to sell off an idle or unneeded factory, this is where you would go to do so. Let''s go ahead and place our vehicle into production so that we can build units to sell. Click the production button or hit continue. This is our production window. It is here we can assign vehicles to be produced as well set how far we will allow them to be shipped. Here is a list of our vehicles that we can build at this factory. Adjust the production lines assigned of our selected vehicle to increase production. Adjust the production speed to increase production, or take a slower pace to increase the quality of our vehicles slightly. Modification of shipping distances will adjust how far we will ship the selected vehicle from this factory to our branches. It is wise not to ship too far, as shipping costs money. Once you''ve made changes to your selected vehicle, be sure to hit the assign button to make your changes! Otherwise nothing will happen! When you''re ready to continue the tutorial click continue. We''ve closed down all the windows for you. The next thing we''re going to do is assign the vehicle for sale at our branches. But first I''m going to show you how to build a branch. We already have a branch at our headquarters, so lets choose another city to build a second branch. Pick a large city, with high per-capita, then hit continue. We need to open the branch window. This is the branch window, The branch system is your direct connection to your dealership networks. If you do not have a branch in the selected city you will be given the option to build a branch in the city. Otherwise this button will be labeled resize. This is where we go to create a branch in the city or expand our existing one. We''ll come back to this a little later. If you wish to down size, closing a branch is a good way to reduce cost and lower the transportation needs of your company. To close a branch simply click the Close Branch button then choose the Yes option. Branches can not be reopened. If you wish to enter this market again you will have to build a new branch. Overtime your branch''s equipment and supplies will wear out. Causing your workers to be less efficient. To combat this you should retool your branches often. To retool click the retool button. The upper part list available vehicles that have not been assigned to distribution. The lower list are vehicles being distributed at this location. To assign a vehicle for distribution, select the vehicle from the upper panel. Then fill out the information on the right. Set the price you wish to sell the vehicle at here. Typically you should price the vehicle 200-300% above unit cost. Remember you have to pay for the factories, employees, and many other expenses as well. This is where you set the shipping priorities. The higher the priority the more likely the selected vehicle will be shipped to this location. Sales priorities tells the dealerships which units to push the most at this location. This should be used for our highest margin vehicles, or with vehicles we have excess reserves of. To add the vehicle to distribution click this button. We can modify the price of a vehicle that is being sold by selecting the vehicle from the bottom list. And filling out this information and hitting modify. Notice this button, The Add/Set All button will assign the vehicle for sale to ALL of our branches. This helps speed up the game so you don''t have to assign a vehicle to each individual branch. This includes population and wealth growth. The more stars, the faster the city/area is growing. Infrastructure - This rates the city and surrounding area''s roads, rails, and ports. The better your city''s roads are, the more likely people will buy your vehicles. The better your overall transportation system is in the area, the easier it will be to get materials, supplies, and export products. This will make it cheaper to build factories and produce cars. Manufacturing Capacity - This represents the overall social and economic climate manufacturing has in the city. The less capacity a city has, the smaller your factories will be. If a city has a high capacity rating, this means it can support larger factories. Manufacturing Growth - This is the growth rate of both the Infrastructure and Manufacturing Capacity of a city. The more manufacturing that comes to a city, the faster it will grow. The faster a city grows, the better its infrastructure will become. Resources - This represents the availability of natural resources needed in the manufacturing of automobiles. The lower the rating, the harder it is to acquire materials. A low rating will increase construction costs as well as monthly factory costs. It may also play a role in supply-related events. Fuel Prices - This is a rating for fuel costs in this city. The higher the rating, the cheaper fuel is compared to the global average. The lower the rating, the more expensive fuel is compared to the global average. The more expensive fuel is, the more the population will look for fuel-efficient vehicles. Labor Skills - This rating represents how skillful and educated the workforce in an area is. With a skillful workforce, you will be able to produce higher-quality vehicles at higher quantities. However, a more skilled labor force is generally more expensive. The more manufacturing brought to an area, the more skillful the labor force will become. Average Labor Wage - The average payment for a particular labor per month. Other factors such as job titles will factor into labor wage. For example, factory workers will be paid less, while engineers will be paid more. Status - This is the political climate in the country. A nation can be at any one of these status: Stable - The government is stable. No effects to manufacturing or sales. Limited War - The nation is involved in limited conflict within its borders or is shifting some of its production into war materials. Manufacturing and sales are limited. War - The nation is at war.
