Oxc00007b error
#1
Keep getting this error despite following the instructions on uninstalling and reinstalling the vc++2013 and 2017 redist files which I downloaded from the links provided along with the Open AL file and installed via run as administrator. But no luck. Haven't played in a while and this is a fresh install on a new computer. I'll send the log files

You need to follow these steps exactly: http://wiki.gearcity.info/doku.php?id=tr...bitvcfiles

Please note, you must uninstall all vc2013 and vc2017 files on your computer before reinstalling the respected vc's. Otherwise your operating system will reject installing the missing libraries.

Ok Eric thanks. Is it just the 2 corresponding vc++ files that need uninstalling or all of the 2013 and 2017 ones that are already installed ?

There should only be 4 installed. But without a picture of the files you have installed, I can't really say.

With that in mind, you should uninstall all of the vc++2013 and vc++2017 files installed. The reinstall is being rejected because you already have some part of vc++2013/2017 installed.

Send me a picture of the installed programs in your add/remove software. You may not have uninstalled the correct files.

In any event, this error means that the required visualc++ redistributables files are not properly installed. IE they're missing files. You have to figure out how to get them to properly installed on your computer.

Here are two threads on Steam with the same issue and resolution: https://steamcommunity.com/app/285110/di...113824156/

If you can't get this to work, you can always switch back to the 32-bit version located in the Steam Betas tab.
