Well I had a game that was going downhill so I saved it and went to the main menu. Then I started a new game with 40 million. I checked my downhill game, that one was only 4 million. So for me it was when I saved a game and then made another in the same GC session. Hope that helps, I'm going to test it again, see if I can get it to repeat.
